T5S2 April Team Tournament

4.12.2021 - 2:10am

Description:

Bring your friends and compete for fortune, glory and T5S2 standings points in this team event! This event will be a fully-fledged tournament, but will be used as a dry-run for a larger T5S2 team series later this year. UPDATE: We've expanded submissions to 16 teams! Team submissions and lists are due by EOD EST on Sunday, April 11th! Basic Info: This event is part of the T5S2 Tournament Series and is being organized on the TacticalTortoise Discord server.  Visit https://discord.gg/rBhVKrt to join the server. To get mission/map info, and meet up with other players or team captains visit the #t5s2-april-team-tournament channel in the Discord server.  Players should change their nicknames so it matches your BCP name (or vise versa). This event will have a limit of 4 teams (however if enough interest is expressed the limit will be increased to 8) and Round 1 will be paired as soon as all the slots are registered. Each team will be composed of 5 players, including one captain.  The captain will be the primary point of contact between teams. This is meant to be a casual format of team event in order to generate feedback on the system.  Communication between players and their captain is encouraged during the playing process, and allowed during gameplay, however players are not allowed to give advice via voice chat during gameplay (this is just to avoid confusion and speaking over opponents). This is a GLOBAL event; so while the schedule is listed in EST, players may be paired with opponents outside their time zone and are expected to adjust their schedule accordingly.  If they cannot, they are expected to concede their game. Pairings Procedure: Each round, 5 mission/map combinations will be determined randomly to be available to be selected that round by the Team B captain during the pairing process.  Each mission may only be selected once. Teams will be paired based on their record.  As soon as possible after pairings are posted, the team captains should communicate to determine player pairings based on the following procedure: -The team with the higher placing will choose whether they are Team A, or Team B during the process (this means that the first round selection will be random). -Team B captain presents their first player. -Team A captain then nominates two of their players to be potential opponents for the first player. -Team B captain chooses which player from the two nominated players to be paired with the first player.  This is the Table 1 pairing; the Team B captain then selects which of the missions will be played on that table.  The player they do not choose remains presented. -Team B captain nominates 2 of their remaining players to be potential opponents for the presented player. -Team A captain chooses which player from the two nominated players to be paired with the presented player.  This is the Table 2 pairing; the Team B captain then selects which of the missions will be played on that table.  The player they do not choose remains presented. -Team A captain then nominates two of their players to be potential opponents for the presented player. -Team B captain chooses which player from the two nominated players to be paired with the presented player.  This is the Table 3 pairing; the Team B captain then selects which of the missions will be played on that table.  The player they do not choose remains presented. -Team B captain then nominates two of their players to be potential opponents for the presented player. -Team A captain chooses which player from the two nominated players to be paired with the presented player.  This is the Table 4 pairing; the Team B captain then selects which of the missions will be played on that table.  The player they do not choose remains presented. -The two remaining players are paired.  This is the Table 5 pairing; the Team B captain then selects which of the missions will be played on that table. This means that Team A captain will have greater control of the pairings, but the Team B captain will determine the missions from the pool being played in those pairings. Tournament Format: -The team with the most game wins during a round will win that match in that round. -One round is to be played each week (new pairings will be posted every Monday).  The event will last 3 rounds. -Unplayed games will result in a 0-0 score being submitted, unless one player concedes or is unresponsive, in which case their opponent scores 60-0 Each game will be played using Chapter Approved: Grand Tournament 2020 rules, alongside the T5S2 Event Regulations, including the following addendums/additions: -Players are to submit a Battle Forged army no greater than 2,000 pts, with its Warlord indicated. -Psychic powers, relics, warlord traits, litanies, adaptive physiologies, stratagems that are used "before the game", etc. may be selected during the "Muster Armies" stage of each game. -Each round will use the mission and terrain setup selected for it during the pairing process. -In the event of a concession, the conceding player retains the VPs they have scored up until that point.  The other player may then continue playing to score additional VPs as if their opponent had no remaining time.
